The Chair for Urban, Regional and International economics is advertising a research assistant position, starting October 1st 2026.
The position is to be filled with a fixed term basis of 3 years, giving applicants the opportunity to pursue a PhD. Remuneration will be in accordance with the collective agreement provisions for pay grade 13 (TV-L). This is a 75% fulltime equivalent.
Position Duties
The research assistant will :
- Conduct research in the field of Urban, Regional and International economics, covering subtopics such as international trade and regional economics.
- Secure, conduct and manage research projects in the fields mentioned above.
- Demonstrate professionalism and accountability by managing time effectively, meeting deadlines, maintaining accurate research records, and adhering to all university policies, research compliance requirements, and ethical standards.
- Design, prepare, supervise and teach courses at the Faculties of Business and economics, and Spatial planning (3 SWS).
Requirements
Candidates must have :
- A completed a Master's degree in Economics, Spatial Planning or related field
- Very good knowledge of quantitative research methods or a strong
willingness to familiarise with these - Very good written and spoken German or English
- Experience in conducting empirical research and programming knowledge in e.g. R/STATA/Python is an advantage
